Pinas Update 2
The trip from Manila to CDO was the longest time ever in my life. As we boarded the plane, David started screaming. SCREAM! He was hungry and tired and the whole chaos was getting into his nerves. As I tried to comfort him, our plane started to take its position in the NAIA runway preparing for take off. I wasn’t aware of the plane’s status with David’s cry piercing right into my eardrums. Then dadi said to me, “the engines are not working!” Total panicked! The next thing I knew we went back to the airport and the door was opened. The pilot said something no one understood as the mic was also broken. 30 minutes of mental torture. FEAR was all that we were feeling. A technician went to the pilot’s pit and as I looked outside my window, I saw other people below. MEGA Takot! By this time David was already snoring!
When apparently all things were checked, we were ready to take off, with the techie coming with us to CDO. I have never prayed so hard in my whole life. The clouds were thick all through out the trip so the ride was bumpy. And every bump, I imagined the engine going to a total halt, and us dropping from the sky like bird’s shits! Gosh, it was terrible! My family waiting in CDO was panicking, my mother never stopped calling all the saints, angels and gods in the heavens!
We landed safely, it was my first time to ride a plane without looking outside the window. I used to love watching our plane landing down, but this time the fear got the better of me and didn’t peek outside.
One and a half hour of flight, it was the longest time of my life.
